Greenery (or)?
You may have heard it before: "Here comes another eco-craze." Or maybe someone has rolled their eyes when you tell them you bought a product made from recycled materials. Is it greenwashing? Or is it something else?
Not perfect, but more aware
At MaallinenDesign, ecology is not a trend, but a way of thinking. It does not mean perfection, and none of us live completely emission-free. But every choice is a message and together they build a great one.
When we choose recycled materials, slower production methods, and local labor, we don't do it because we "should," but because we believe in better. Kinder. More sustainable.
Greenwashing isn't stupid - it's misleading
It's true that the word "responsibility" is sometimes used loosely. Greenwashing happens. Products are branded as "green" even though underneath the surface they are just ordinary disposable consumption.
The term greenwashing refers to a company presenting itself as environmentally friendly, even though its actual actions do not support it. It can be fine words without concrete actions, misleading labeling on packaging, or a visual appearance that suggests environmental friendliness without real content.
Greenwashing is unfortunately common, which is why consumer criticality is important.
Genuine and sustainable choices are not nonsense. They are actions that speak of value: the value of nature, people, and the future.
Finally, a small request for you
Keep asking. Keep doubting if you feel like it. But above all: keep choosing. You are the one who makes all of this meaningful. Not because you have to be perfect - but because you are aware.
